Welcome to Ocean View Motel, Ohope Beach
Welcome to Ocean View at Ohope Beach – one of New Zealand's best beaches. Ocean View is a superb holiday retreat situated in a small beachside community. We are wedged between the pohutukawa-clad cliffs and are a minutes stroll to the broad, flat expanse of Ohope Beach. Ocean View in West End (the western end of Ohope Beach) is located in a quiet no-exit road that separates the motel from the sand and ocean waves.
Apartments 1 and 2 are up a level to allow views of West End and Whale Island. Each has a covered deck and outdoor furniture to view the beach and the surrounding environment in a quiet, private, elevated position. The studio has ocean views from its deck.
The air-con provides comfort to suit all our guests. LED TV with 50+ SKY channels is available. For the master chef, a full set of cooking utensils, oven, fridge and microwave are in apartments 1, 2 and 3.
You can appreciate the spaciousness of apartment 3 with uninterrupted and expansive views of Whale Island, White Island and East Cape. Enjoy the sunrise over East Cape from the cosiness of the lounge or the fresh air of the deck. The lounge allows all guests to view the changing seascape through all-weather all year round.
Our elegant boutique apartments offer north-facing views to West End from a covered deck. Sleeping up to 3, with all modern facilities, and including air-con. The third large penthouse apartment sleeps up to 6 and has 180° views from West End to Whale Island to East Cape.
All of our units have an oven, microwave, fridge, SKY TV and air-con. Available for free is a laundry with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Our guests are invited to ask us about the free use of bikes, kayaks, boogie boards and a surf board.
We are located at Ohope Beach in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Ohope Beach is New Zealand's best beach on the northeast coast of the North Island and is 6km east of Whakatane. There are several bush walks in the area within walking distance of our motel. The beach stretches for 12km from West End to the Port Ohope spit.
